  • 2nd Instance of VE Pro on Slave Causes Skipping and Glitching

I'm running Digital Performer 7.22 on a Mac Pro 8-core 2.8 GHz with 12 GB RAM and Mac OS 10.6.7 as my master and a Mac Mini 1.66 Intel Core Duo with 2 GB RAM and Mac OS 10.6.7 as my slave.  My versions of VE Pro on both computers are up to date.  I'm running Kontakt in an instance of VE Pro on my slave.  Everything works great if I only have one instance of Kontakt on my slave, but as soon as I add a second instance, all instruments routed from the slave, even the ones from the first instance of Kontakt, start glitching and popping.  Activity Monitor on the Mini says I'm only using around 500 MB of my 2 GB of RAM and the CPU usage never gets higher than 50%, so I don't think the issue is overworking the Mini.

I'm stumped on what to do and any help on fixing this problem would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

  • It's been two weeks and I'm still having this issue.  Changing the audio plug-ins preference in DP from Real Time to Pre-Gen did nothing.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Did you ever resolve these issues?

I am using VSL 5.3.12844 with VE Pro 5.1.12337 in DP7.24.  After years of smooth sailing I am starting to experience some glitches.

When I record midi into Digital Performer 7 using VSL patch on my Vienna Ensemble machine it works fine.  However, when I play it back it skips and stutters.  For some reason, when I play back with the track record enabled, it plays back fine.

When I use Kontakt or other VSTs on the same Vienna slave computer it works fine.  This has made my VSL Library impossible to use.

    Any thoughts? Thanks!
