Hey guys,
Im new here.
Quick question, I've seen the video tutorials on how Vienna works and is impressed by the software. Ofcourse the sounds are awesome.
However I have East West sound library's and their Play program.
I was wondering if I could use my East West sounds and buy the Vienna player separately and run the sounds through that instead of using Play. Would that work? Does any one do that here?
Thanks

The Vienna player only works with Vienna libraries, just as East West sample player only works with East West libraries. And welcome! :)

Welcome Deserteaglezx, Thanks for your friendly words! Fellow forum member Dorremifasol is spot-on: Our Vienna Instruments and Vienna Instruments Pro Software Sample Players both rely a lot on a set of advanced recording techniques we use to gather samples from instruments or ensembles. The built-in "intelligence" of the players needs a _lot_ of "food" to work properly. ;-). This is why there is no support for 3rd-party libraries. Thanks for your understanding.

Hi Dietz --
I'm trying to get up to speed on the core knowledge of VSL and VI Pro and the first tutorial for Pro says "We assume that you have experience with the basic organization and functionality of the original Vienna Instruments." -- which, I assume, is the pre-Pro VSL sample player. Are there tutorials on that software for those of us just coming to the party?
Thanks in advance --
charlie

Dietz -- I found a set of tutorials on the "original" Vienna Instrument sample player on the VSL web site. Here's the URL for anyone else who might be interested: http://www.vsl.co.at/en/.../1343/1348/1523/1148.vsl -- and obviously my question doesn't need to be answered.... Thanks -- charlie

Ah thanks for the quick response. Sucks because i love how simple the articulation swapping and repetition system is. :(
Gotta save up some extra cash then
