  • More trouble than it's worth?

    Hey guys,

I really love VSL when it works.

But I've just realised that I spend more time troubleshooting than composing... :(

Here's the latest recurring error, this time from elicenser:

"there are still other applications running which prevented this process from succeeding"

of course, there's nothing else running.

it's just so annoying the amount of crap one has to deal with just to use VSL.

    Hi ross,

Did you close all VSL programs?

Please make sure that you are using the latest eLCC and ALL the latest VSL software.

We have updated the copy protection, so all parts (protection software and the protected software) need to be updated! After this, please restart your computer, and everything should work just fine!

    Best,

    Paul

  • If you are on a PC, just start your resource monitor and kill whatever process having something to do with VSL (Vienna Instruments.exe, Vienna Ensemble.exe) or eLicencer (eLCC.exe).

  • Trust me friend....its not VSL its your computer. Ive been using VSL for years now and have never had a problem. If you want to compose music using a computer than you should get a computer just for that and nothin else, not even internet ( especially internet ).

  • Yeah, chances are you have device drivers conflicts, or some sort of similar problem that is a fault of your system, there won't be any particular problem with VSL software to create that or it would happen for the rest of us. I suspect you have USB devices such as cameras attached to this machine. That isn't good practice and you should expect problems with other USB devices; such as elicenser.

It's smooth sailing here, I don't have any problems using it at all nowadays and for some time now.
