  • Decision for purchase - just looking for some advice.

    Hi All,

I am a bit stuck here, in making a decision. I really like the sound of the reverbs from the of INSP:IR Impulse Library Vienna Edition

that Beat Kaufmann demonstrates on his website. I also would really love to have the licence for Vienna Ensemble Pro. I already have Vienna Suite, and I think the demo's that use the Vienna Suite on Beat's site - and the Special Edition demo that I have that uses Vienna Suite sounds superb also and I know I can use these reverbs in the free Vienna Ensemble also, so that's no problem. It's just that I'd like the ability to use all my vsl instruments and other vst libraries in one place with vens pro.

Well, I suppose it's a bit of a question as to which is better to have when they are both great products. I suppose I can get buy without Vens pro and simply use them as vst instruments in Cubase and use vens free version for my vi's, export them as audio files and then use the INSP:IR Impulse Library Vienna Edition later when I mix down the audio files.

I suppose it's a bit of a hard question to answer, but the nice reverbs in INSP:IR  with the placements already created on the virtual stage is a real temptation to want to have, and, well, VEn pro,

well, that's just something I want in earnest also. But, for my next purchase soon, it may  have to be one or the other.

Well, if anyone has both, please let me know. Sorry if the question is a bit of a hard one to answer. If all someone wants to do is to talk about their positive experience with both of these products, or just one of them if you only have one of them, that would be great!

    thanks and best,

    Steve.

  • Hi Steve

    Just seen your question(s) here...

    My suggest:

Take the money for the planed IRs for further libraries.

Together with Hybrid you have enough possibilities to create nice spaces for your Orchestras.

BTW: You will be able to download the new version of my tutorial the coming weekend.

There you will find the new additional chapter about creating depths with Hybrid - including the presets of this piece:

    http://www.musik-produktion-createc.ch/downloads/bk_trad_simeliberg.mp3

As further information: I used 3 depths for this piece and one reverb without any depth - and I always used Hybrid...

    So why buying more IRs?

    All the best

    Beat Kaufmann

  • Hi Beat,

thanks so much for that info and advice. This piece you have given me the link for - the depths in here sound just wonderful! Again, it is a wonderful mix! So nice clean and clear and mixed so well!

I am really looking forward to the updated version of the tutorial and I will so look forward to using the presets for this piece.

Thanks again Beat for giving me your  advice. Again, makes me realize that I am so glad that I brought the Vienna Suite originally.

Like I said, I will be eagerly looking forward to the new update of the tutorial!

best and thanks so much for your help here,

    Steve[:D]

  • Hello again

Thanks for the praising words, Steve.

The quality of the sound may also depend on a proper mastereing - which I did.

Nevertheless, the reverbs are produced by Hybrid

And finally... a big SORRY to INSP:IR and SERTI/FORTI ... money goodby [:(]

    Best

    Beat

  • Beat,

Very nice piece.  I haven't downloaded Hybrid yet.  Better get to it.

I'm curious what instrument share 4 bar leads with the flute around 1:24 into your piece.  It sounds like Uileann Pipes.

              Thanks,      Tom

    Hello Tom

    Thanks for the kind feedback.

Yes, it is an "Uilleann Pipe" ...from the Library "Quantum Leap RA".
