  • Vienna Suite Bypass Button?

For the life of me, I can't find the Bypass button for any of the Vienna Suite Plugins.

    Thanks,
    Mahlon

  • There is no specific bypass button inside the plugins. Every host should supply one.

  •  Thanks Martin. I think this would be a good addition to the plug-ins (which are excellent, btw). When used as an insert in Sonar, the only bypass is to turn the plug-in totally/on off which always gives a tiny audible click between states.

    Thanks,
    Mahlon

EDIT:And as Andy says, it also takes the focus away from the Plug-in and puts it behind ,in my case, Sonar. Just an extra step to bring it back.

  •  Yes, I think a bypass in the plug in is a good idea, as clicking on the bypass in the host (Cubase in my case), takes the focus away from the plug in, also the plug in delay compensation glitches when bypassed this way.

So I am in support of a bypass within the plug that keeps the latency the same for perfectly glitch free A/B comparison.

  • A bypass-button would really be nice... and make an excellent plugin even better. Maybe in one of the upcoming updates?

Yes, but on a multi-screen setup this means lots of mousing in that case ... just also found that to be really annoying lately ...

I believe every host out there provides a bypass button in the plugin window itself. Are there any hosts which don't?

The most valid point in adding a bypass button to the plugin would be for handling plugins with latency. Otherwise, hosts can provide a perfectly suitable bypass - with a consistent handling regardless of plugin. That's why I'm really reluctant to add it to the Suite. But I'll consider it for the next release anyway 😊

hmmm, let's put it that way: if you do neither consider Ableton Live nor Numerology to be hosts, then you might be correct ...

Yes, latency is also a problem, but for me bypass button as well 😊

I didn't know these hosts do not provide a bypass button on the plugin window. This is something which every host *should* do imho. But in any case, I'll see if I can squeeze it in for the next release.

    Thanks,

  •  Thanks, Martin. That would be great.

I don't think there's a bypass button on plug-in windows in Sonar. Other Sonar users, correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit: Even though I've not bought VS yet...[:$] But soon!

  • Thanks :)

Well, they are maybe not the first go-to-hosts for most VSL users :)

    Best regards
