  • Need help to Organize patches in a orchestral template

Hi can i have some example how organize the midi channel and patch in a film orchestra template? I use kontakt like vst in VEP..I am Lost in routing midi track i don't understand the way of organize the patches for any instruments and how should i assign them to midi channels......i can set 16 IN channels in Vep to associate virtually to 16 Kontakt players and each channel have 16 midi sub channel.....i want to create a template starting with strings session with 1 violins 2 violins violas cello and double basses....for the moment i have done this: i load 1st kontakt session on VEP 1 channel and i have assigned a keyswitch patch on 1st violins....then i have repeated the same operation with other instrument of the section.....so in final i have 5 patches assigned to first 5 channel of kontakt and them routing into 5 out that are assigned to 5 input channels in VEP mixer and routing back to 5 channel in the sequencer.....it's the right way? basically how many patches i must open for each instrument for a template? it's better to open only Keyswitches patches and after when orchestrating the song open only the patches with necessary articulations (in order to using less RAM) or loading all possible patches initially in the template in order to have all kind of sound under my hands and in this case what is the better way to assign midi channels to instruments patches? I have reader the guide to orchestral template but don't say nothing about it help me please

  • ok....i have done....do you help me?

  • Hi!

I suppose you were referring to my tutorial about VE Pro and Logic. Your template questions are pretty involved and not easily answered in a short text. Basically its a matter of workflow. Planning the stuff is quite challenging, I'd recommend to sit down on a secluded spot and carefully think about what you really need in there. As much as I'd like, I can't help you much without knowing your needs. Maybe you know that I help people set up VE Pro remotely; fee free to drop me a line if you are interested via my website: www.novatlan-sound.de

    Cheers :)
