  • Sci-fi Main Title composed with Special Edition

    Hello VSL forum!

Since I think I should post more stuff in here, I thought it would be good to show you some of my work I am doing with this

    wonderful VSTi.

hope you'll like it! Criticism is always welcome!

    Best regards,

    Deniz Akbulut

  • Hello Deniz,

I like your composition from start to end. Especially the beginning with the strings which seem to open space and the end with the "floating flutes" which offer some sort of mysterious quality (and reminiscent of James Horner).

    What I often dislike is the lack of authenticity (e.g. between 1:00 - 1:08) and the mix's balance, e.g. when accents are added (0:47 - 0:50 or 0:56 - 0:58).

    A tiny recommendation:

Check if you like the sound when the bell (0:05; 0:12) is placed more in the background.

Finally, would you be willing to tell me, whether you used SE or SE Plus and VI/ VE pro?

    Have a good time,

    Sebastian

  • Hello Sebastian,

    I'm glad you liked it!

The authenticity is the main problem I must fight in the Special Edition, seems like I must look over it again and work harder on the mix (which is the work I dislike most). I've spent quite some time with the tubular bell, but I like it how it is at the moment. And to your final question, I used Special Edition and PLUS with only the standard libraries and VIPro. Thanks for the tips!

    Best regards,

    Deniz Akbulut

PS: How do you make empty spaces in this forum?

I guess you are asking how to perform a "carriage return" - and using "Enter" has no effect, right?

I have no idea what you could do when hitting "Enter" doesn't work  [:$] - except for asking the webmaster for help.

  • I just found out that you can choose from which content editor you can write in the forum. Mine was set to "plain text" instead of "standard" or "enhanced".

Now it is on enhanced and enters do work for me now.
