Hello,

I may be misremembering - was it possible to receive a 30-day demo license for the extended library of a DVD standard library? I recently purchased the percussion and elements DVDs, and I would like to test drive the extended libraries (as well as that of a downloaded tenor sax), if possible.

Best regards,

Brian

Hello Brian,

The mentioned 30-day demo licenses are available upon request only, after you've registered the given Standard Library.

I've just sent you the respective activation codes via email to your registered email address - enjoy! :-)

Best,

Stefan

Thank you for the activation codes, Stefan.

Unfortunately, the codes seem to have caused a problem with my licenses. I was able to enter the activation codes for both instruments, but now I get the following message:

"Could not find a license for Vienna Instruments Pro. Please make sure that your Vienna Key is connected to a USB port and that you have the latest version of eLicenser Control Center installed, then restart the application."

VI Pro was working moments before I entered these new activation codes, so they seem to be the likely culprits. What can I do about this?

Well, now this has taken an even worse turn. I downloaded and installed the latest version of eLicener Control Center, and my USB eLicencer is displayed as "Broken USB eLicencer", with following mesage:

"The USB-eLicenser is broken, and cannot be used anymore. It needs to be replaced by a new USB-eLicenser. Please contact the software vendor of your product to ask for a replacement USB-eLicenser."

Please tell me this is some kind of mistake.

Hello Brian,

Did you click "Maintenance" in the eLicenser Control Center yet? Did you change anything on your physical USB key?

It would be a huge coincidence if your key stopped working at the same moment when you tried to download additional licenses, also because it´s a new key that was initiated in 2011.

Thanks for letting me know. We can also contact me at , would be great if you added some screenshots, in case this didn´t help!

Best,

Paul

Hi Paul,

I did click maintenance in the eLicenser Control Center, and it appeared to make several updates. I also downloaded the latest version of the software (6.3.2.8071) from their website.

I did not change anything physically with the USB key. It stays plugged into the USB port of my computer. Here is exactly what happened:

1. I was composing music (for which I'm on a deadline, I might add) using Sibelius, VE, and VI Pro.

2. I saw Stefan's reply to my post about demo licenses, so I shut down Sibelius, VE, and VI Pro and inserted the activation codes into the eLicenser Control Center. I was able to download the licenses for both instruments successfully. Incidentally, the program prompted me to start the demo period for one of them, but not the other.

3. When I attempted to start VI Pro as a standalone program, I received the messages described above.

4. I performed the maintenance operation and downloaded the latest version of the eLicencer software, but the program still indicates that the key is "broken".

That is all. I will send screenshots to the support e-mail address.

Thank you,

Brian

I also once had a "broken" vienna key, I plugged the key out, put it into another computer, put it back, restarted the computer, and everything worked back ok :) you should try it!

Thank you for the suggestion, A871! I gave it a try, but unfortunately the situation didn't change. I am now in the process of having it taken care of by VSL, so hopefully everything will be ok. In any case, I do appreciate the reply.

Best regards,

Brian
