  • Connecting VE Pro in Digital Performer

I'm trying to add an instance of VE Pro within Digital Performer 7.24, and it won't connect. I do not have a slave computer; I have a MacPro 8-core with three 1T drives. Anytime the server interface opens, there are no Available Instances to connect to. Anyone have any ideas?

  • You have to open up 'Vienna Ensemble Pro Server' first. There used to be a bug that if you had the server open and started DP you would get an error. So, what I do is Open up DP7 until it gets to the open project screen, then click on the VE Pro Server application, then choose your project. When you open up VE Pro, you will see the server.

  •  Have you checked the "advertise on local network" box in the VE Pro Preferences?

  • Thank you! That worked!

  • DG,

I cannot locate an option to connect to local server in VE Pro preferences (or any other) location.  Please advise

    1. Open VEP server
    2. Click Preferences
    3. Click General tab
    4. Under the server name, there is a check box for "Advertise on Local Network". Make sure it is ticked.

  • The box is checked but VE Pro 5 will still not show up in DP.  The server interface shows no available instances, nor a slave address or preserved name.  VI Pro, however, does show up outside VE Pro.  Any ideas?
