    Hello everyone!

I just finished writing this piece and I would be very happy if you give it a listen. 😊

I used Sibelius, Cubase and VSL Special Edition (Standard Only) for it. It took a whole week to write it. I would have taken elss time for it but I have to learn for school exams, too!

Constructive criticism would be much appreciated. But don't forget to enjoy it!

    Best regards

  • Hi there. Very good! It captures perfectly the Halloween mood. Just one suggestion, about the percussive elements. You use a celesta, glockenspiel or something like that. There is a moment when it is playing a rhythmic pattern, repeating the same notes, that it falls into the machine gun problem. The repeated notes sound exactly the same, revealing its sampled origin. I would tweak the velocity of every note in order to achieve a more realistic result. Of course this is just my perception after a fast listening, so probably I'm wrong! ;). But anyway, I hope you find my suggestion useful. Best regards!

  • Hmm, I didn't really hear a machne-gun effect. Maybe there is one, but I didn't find it distracting. Maybe you just have better ears than I do. I will of course look especially for repetitions in my next pieces. Thanks for the heads up and I'm glad you liked it. :)

  • Hi Intero

i like the atmosphere that you created, it also gives me hope becasue i just bought the SE bundle and i was wondering what kind of writing i can do with it, and i wanted to listed to works from users not professional demos

    i should say i'm encouraged

i may be wrong, but i think the cymbals position is too far in the mix? what do you think?

  • I thought I was professional. D:

Anyways, I'm glad you liked it though. For me, the cymbals don't seem to be too far away.

  • No i didn't mean that yuou're not a professioanl, i meant that i wanted to check music done NOT as a demo produced by people specialized in VSL and done by them to sell the product :)

as for the cymbals, it's also a matter of taste and what you want from the instrument to feel like
