  • Will I lose my VEPRO4 license when updating to VEPRO5 ?

Hi ! I believe the subject of my post is pretty explanatory. I'm thinking about updating to VEPRO5 but I want to make sure first what will happen with my previous license. Just to avoid surprises... anyone knows ? Thanks in advance !

  •  You won't lose your licence (the VEP5 licence covers both), but you can't run both VEP4 and VEP5 at the same time.

  • I wondered the same thing. On the dongle it leaves both VSL 4 and VSL 5 licences  so I presume if you needed to, you could uninstall VSL5 and go back to VSL 4 and it will work. That said I upgraded this morning and all my VSL4 projects load and run without a hitch.

  • Thanks for your quick replies but I still have a doubt... Now I own three eLicensers, each with its own license (I bought VEPRO 4 in June, so 3 licenses were included). So if I update to VEPRO 5, will I have 3 separate eLicensers containing VEPRO 4 and 5 licenses ? Thanks again folks !

You will have 3 eLicensers with VE PRO 5 licenses, which will also work with VE PRO 4.

This posting is a little misleading.

The VEP5 full install (not the upgrade ) license does not allow you to run VEP4. if you upgrade, then yes, you can still run both versions 4 & 5, but if you just purchase the Full version of VEP5 then you only can run VEP5.

As the OP specifically said upgrading from VEP4, I think my post was 100% accurate and not in the least bit misleading.
