  • MIR Pro Herbs Teldex presets

Hi and happy sunday to all,

New user for MIR Pro (OSX), i desesperate to find a way to load Herbs Teldex Presets, as i can't find the Files>Starting Points or Files>Load Presets in VE Pro5 window...

I search all the community forum and web, but nothing...So i guess i missed something so obvious, and now i'm asking a stupid question, but i'm blocked.

Thanks for all for help !!!

  • Welcome Olivier,

You cought me off my guard ;-) ... I have to convert Herb's Teldex Presets and all the Venue Presets that were available for "legacy" MIR manually. Admittedly I'm not done with it yet, sorry to say so. Once I'm ready they will be available in your User Area.

    Thanks for your patience,

  • Hi Dietz,

Thanks a lot for fast answer and make me feel less stupid than this morning.

    Have a nice day !

  • Update ... they're almost done. The MIR Pro-versions of  "Herb's Teldex Presets" will also include an instance of MIRacle set up readily for use. :-)

This is how the Large Orchestra preset will look like:

The (SE-compatible!) preset for a smaller orchestra:

  • Hi Dietz,

Do you have a sense of whether the Teldex large ensemble preset will run on a Mac Pro 2.66 ghz (8-core, 32GB ram), together with a DAW (DP 7 or Logic 8)?

  • As long as you don't want to enable all full VI Pro 2-Presets and use reasonable latency settings, this could work - although I don't know how "polite" Logic 8 behaves when it comes to multi-core processing ...

But the most meanigful way to find out yourself is to use MIR Pro's 30-day demo license! :-)

    Kind regards,

  • Probably a stupid question, sorry in advance if it is: but are there similar presets for the "basic" included rooms (mainly the Grosser Saal)...

Also, again, sorry if this is a stupid question! but is there any possibility of a "trial" version of the Teldex so one can try before buying?

    Thanks so much!

Loving MIR so far. It lets you get in there with the sound you want, and it's amazingly flexible. I had a problem with a brass part not mixing with the rest of the orchestra, changed the microphone configuration, and it was magic, added some compression to a solo part: perfect. Definitely ties the VSL library together very well.

  • Thanks for the friendly words!

There will be "Venue Presets" for all MIR Venues, much like they were available for "legacy" Vienna MIR. They are really Venue Presets, though, not orchestral setups. This means that there are hand-crafted settings for Main Microphone, Room EQ etc. but with a few exceptions there are no Icons positioned on any of the stages.

Re - Teldex: Right now, there are no trial licenses available for any of the RoomPacks, sorry to say so.

    HTH,

  • Hi Dietz, thanks for responding so quickly, and so close to Christmas! [<:o)]

That's a shame about no demo for the other room packs. You know, there's so much you can do to tweak them, I have to be honest, hearing a demo made with them would not at all enable me to decide if I would like / want to use them. I would need to hear it in my own set up and tweak it until I found settings that I liked before I could decide if I would use it. That is why I bought MIR in the first place in fact, was because of the trial. The sound on the demo's while impressive was not what I was looking for, but once I tried the demo I found I could really make it work for what I wanted and then some I hadn't hoped I could achieve. But it's the same with the other room packs. If there is any way in the future to make those demo licensable that would be great. Just a humble suggestion.

Anyway, nothing lacking whatsoever in the "base model". But Teldex is a pretty great room - you just never know how it's going to work out with your mixes until you try.

    Thanks. [Y]

  • You're right, it would be nice to have demo lienses for the RoomPacks, too, but there are some obstacles that make that a bit impractical to achieve.

    Kind regards,
