  • Auugh. Request for change

Working with VII within VIP, I can't tell you how many times I've done this. I go do delete an articulation in a cell and instead of clicking on the garbage can I hit the delete key. The instance of VII is then deleted. I same my instances after every chance (usually) so I'm able to get bet to where I was, but I wish the delete key would delete just the articulation when it is highlighted.

  • You are speaking of Vienna Instruments Pro (2) within Vienna Ensemble (Pro), right?! Yeah, that happens to me regularly, too. I, too, wish the delete key would delete the cell, not the whole instance of VIP...

  • If you're in VE Pro 5, there's Undo for most everything - actually it should do the trick. :-)

Yes, that's what I usually use when I have accidentally deleted the whole instance - not the cell. But nevertheless it´s very non-intuitive if you "operate" on a smaller unit (cell) and the delete key deletes the superordinate unit (whole instance) - I´m happy that the delete key doesn´t delete the whole Vienna Ensemble instance 😊. Would definitely love to see deleting the cell with the delete key as an option at least. Just because it happens more often that you want to delete a cell than to delete an instance!

    Thanks,

    Marco

  •  I do agree that deleting the whole instance is a little drastic, especially as there is no "Are you sure" stage on an unsaved instance. But, yes Ctrl-Z does bring it back.

I have often wanted a delete cell function, but it doesn't really exist. Perhaps hitting delete should clear the active cells content, and then if a cell is empty, then delete could delete (Remove) the cell.

I often have built up 3 cells, then decided I only want 2 (cells 1 and 3), but it is not possible to delete the middle cell. Cell 3 has to be copied to cell 2, and then the matrix resized.   Just a thought for a possible update......
