  • First song mixed in MIR Pro

    Hi guys,

this is my first song that I did using MIR Pro and the Teldex Wide venue (almost all instruments except of Percussions are VSL, too) - Final reverb was QL Spaces.

    Enjoy ;)

  • Great piece of music, congratulations. Very well done.

If you allow for some constructive critique: I would suggest to put a bit more emphasis on the lowest frequency range. The mix is on the "easy" side and could benefit from more energy below 100 Hz. This would add some "grip" and impact to the mix, as well as a bit of separation between instruments which I'm missing at the moment.

    Kind regards,

  • Thank you very much, Dietz! Your words mean very much to me!

And thanks for your suggestions! Okay, the low frequencies - guess I'd know what to do (Guess it's my little home studio room that has some bad low frequency response and low freqs are getting annoying very quickly so I tend to mix with little lows - have to use my new headphones a bit more, I guess ;) )  but do you have any tips how to get the instruments more separated? (Use of EQ to give them their "isolated" frequency range? Or something that can be done in MIR Pro spatial wise?)

The original WAV file is a bit better, though. Soundcloud's MP3 compression is well known one of the worst out there ;)

  • Very professionally sounding production, congratulations!

  • Thanks a lot! Much appreciated!

  • Hi Marco,

My comments were adressing the lack of a real low-end in your mix in general, no MIR Pro-related issues. My gut-feeling was that some of the instruments miss the body that would make them appear more three-dimensional.

    Kind regards,
