  • Multiple Instances or Many Many Audio Outputs?

    Hello,

I'm setting up a fairly hefty orchestral template and I'm wondering if it's better (memory wise) to setup, say, 2 instances of VE PRO 5 outputting 32 audio channels to Cubase or 1 instance outputting 64 audio channels.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Luc

  • 1 instance is better than 2.

  • Perfect! Thank you very much.

  • One instance is fine as long as you don't have to freeze anything becuase with one instance you get all or nothing.  Many of us run multiple instances with no issues.

  • I'm running Vienna Ensemble Pro 5 in Ableton Live 8.2.8 and can't figure out how to route audio channels(Other than the Master Out) back to Ableton. I load up a single instance and create a few tracks(ie. Instruments, Audio Input), then set them to Out 1/2, Out 3/4, Out 5/6, however there appears to be no way of linking those separate outputs back to their respective tracks in Ableton. I don't want to have all my tracks in an instance only route out the Master Out. It makes it impossible to continue mixing them in Ableton. How can I fix this?

  • The VE Pro Server Interface plugin is a plain instrument plugin with multiple output buses, much like Kontakt, Stylus RMX, and so forth. You should check your Ableton Live manual on how to utilize the extra output buses of such an instrument.
