  • [SOLVED] Logic 9, VEP5 and the Event Input setup issue

I am trying to get the event input plugin to work in Logic 9, but am getting, unplayed, hanging notes and/or terrible latency (even when there is only one midi part playing a slow 4-note phrase). Oddly, the part will play back perfectly if I have enabled any of the chanels of that software instrument within Logic's arrange window. If, however, i have enabled the midi channel of another multi-timbral software instrument, the problems present.

    Here is what I did:

    1) Launch the VEP64 bit server.

    2) Launch Logic and create a new blank project.

    3) Create a multi-timbral software instrument in logic, insert the VEP plugin and connect to the VEP64 bit server. Insert the i/o plgin on the channel (in Logic) and bypass it.

    4) create another multi-timbral software instrument, insert the VEP Event input plugin and assign it to midi channel 1. Insert the i/o plugin and bypass it. Record a short phrase.

** The phrase plays back fine now as long as I have enabled any of the software instruments 16 channels.

    5) Create another multi-timbral software instrument, insert the VEP Event plugin and assign to midi channel 2. Insert the i/o plugin and bypass it.

*** now, if I've ebnabled any of THESE 16 midi channels, the original part will not play properly (if at all).

I am running Logic 9.1.6 & VEP 5.0.10309 (the latest build).

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.[:)]

  • So after working with Karel, it turns out, despite my best intentions, i had not assigned the output on one of the i/o plugins. So, human error I guess.

I'll try to be more careful!

    (Thank you, Karel).
