  • VE Pro screen flickering

Hi, I'm having a little problem and I wonder if i'm the only one. I don't know whether it's my slave PC/win7 or VE that's acting out. I have a slave PC running VE Pro on a Win7 base. I'm using a mac for my main daw and use Remote Desktop Connection to see the desktop of my Slave. Inside the window of VE Pro, but not the whole desktop is a rather annoying graphic flickering effect when an instrument is triggered by midi over LAN. I'm suspecting this has something to do with my computer setup, rather than VE Pro, but I didn't have the problem before updating to VE Pro from VE. Thanks

  • I have the same issue. I'm using a Mac Pro as the host, and a Mac Mini Server as the slave machine. I use Screen Sharing, and the Mini screen window will flicker quite a bit when VEPro receives MIDI data. It's hard on the eyes...

  • I'm also using a MacMiniServer via Screen Sharing and noted that when viewing the shared screen, under Apple>view menu, you will have the choice of "Adaptive Quality" or "Full Quality".  Obviously Full Quality is the better choice.  I experience no impact on the audio performance (the Gig Eth connection should be more than enough bandwidth).  Using Adaptive Quality does get hard on the eyes - Full Quality isn't perfect but the image is much sharper.

Can't speak from experience with the windows environment, but I'd hope there was some parameter to throttle/increase screen refresh rate that you could tweak to improve the image.

  • Thanks for the reply. I had previously tried both settings with the same results. The Full Quality setting yields a sharper screen image overall, but the flicker is basically the same on both settings.

  • Have any of you solved this issue? I'm facing the same problem as the OP and the rest of you. :(
