  • Appassionata content in SE Vol. 2 vs. Vol. 3??

Hi - I have the full SE original libraries (now being Vol. 1, Vol. 1 PLUS, Vol. 2, Vol. 2 PLUS). The Volume 2 collections contain Appassionata strings staccato, sustained (and muted) right? But aren't these same samples also in Volume 3? So aside from having more standard and muted articulations what would be the point in purchasing Volume 3 when my Volume 2 content already contains some of the same samples (which would put me off the purchase [:S])??

If this is the case, should there not be a discount path for Volume 2 owners wishing to purchase Volume 3?

    Thanks!

  • Volume 3 not only contains more articulations of the Appassionata Strings in normal and muted variations, but also muted Solo Strings and Chamber Strings. Volume 2 and Volume 2 PLUS include only staccatos and sustains as "Bonus Files", so they're not part of any upgrade path.

But there are identical Appassionata samples in Volume 3 as the ones found in Volume 2 / 2 PLUS? That isn't good....

  • It is in the nature of "bonus files" that they are FREE, so you didn't pay for them when you bought the Special Editions back then - which was good, I guess ;-)

Ah...you see, the concept of "bonus files" was never explained (is it defined anywhere in the manual or on this site?) - I didn't realise that bonus files did not have an upgrade path and were free. I was under the impression that when purchasing the Special Edition libraries you were still paying for the bonus files but that they were simply add-ons to the regular SE patches..
