  • keeping ens pro & cubase active simultaneously

RUNNING WINDOWS 7,I7, CUBASE 6, ENS PRO 5

While installing instruments in Ens Pro 5 for a Cubase project, every time I click on a midi track header in Cubase, Ens Pro deletes to the task bar. To reopen E Pro I have to go into the task bar and reopen E P., for every instrument I load. I can't find anything from manuals to videos that tells me how to have both Cubase and Ens Pro 5 available simultaneously on my screen to work in.
    Help!!

  •  Put VEP on a second screen.

  • Hey DG, thanks for the response. I thought about that. I have  split the screen by narrowing down Cubase so that both functions are available on one screen. As soon as I click a track in Cubase Ens Pro dissapears. It's not a question of EP being eclipsed -hidden behind Cubase, EP goes to the task bar.

  •  No, put it on a separate monitor. Not the same monitor. [;)]

This will happen whenever you have two programs open. The only time it doesn't is when the 2nd program is designed to reside on top, but that can cause all sorts of problems. So basically you are asking for a new feature in VEP.

  • You could try the "Always On Top" utility from Dropbox. Download under http://dl.dropbox.com/u/149566/Downloads/always-on-top.zip

After starting this programm, click on the VEPro Window, press Ctrl+Space and VEPro shouldn't be hidden anymore.

    Best regards,

  • FWIW: I've been using this now for a few days and it works well. My only niggle is that I wish it had some visual indicator that it was 'engaged'. (Maybe it does and I'm not seeing it?) Other than that... HANDY!

I guess I expected some strange 'bug' but so far none.

  •  Hey JC. I found out by accident that if I drag in the size of Cubase to ,say, half screen and then set Ensemble Pro 5 to the side of it then all works fine. My error prior to that was that I was only diminishing the size of the Cubase project gui instead of bringing  the total face of Cubase in. The two seperate programs can't touch.

Thanks to those of you who brought responses about this!

I see that you use the UF 8. Like to talk to you about it if that's ok. (I've going to need the next couple of days to finish up a job)
