Ah, writing for television...how low can one sink?...Actually, its what I do for a living and to be perfectly frank, I enjoy it! The moneys better than I ever got for performance or albums and the work is as varied as any composer could hope for. Of course, its always a little weird when somebody starts singing about a biscuit or washing machine powder over your intricate backing but, hey, the cheques are regular and contain multiple zeros.
Hopefully you might know somebody who works in an advertising agency who might let you have a shot at a submission. (Never work for nothing - agency types will automatically assume your music is worth nothing as well). Try getting hold of your local industry who's who insofar as directors and producers are concerned...but theyll just want to see a showreel of some description. Presentation is the key...youre only as good as the cover on your reel.
I could go on about this for days but it is O.T so feel free to PM me if you need to know more or take a look at zigzaglane.com.au.
Later.
