  • Triggering Portamento

I may be a total fool, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make the portamento work. I just purchased the special edition volume 3 as my first VSL library. I wanted to give the system a try before I splurged for the whole SE line. When I load a legato patch it responds as I expect. Play one note, play second note while first is still held and you get a legato interval. However, when I load a portamento patch that doesn't work. I play one note, play second note while still holding first, and I get the second note but no slide. HOWEVER, if I've continued to hold the first note, then release the second note, I get an obvious portamento slide back to the first note. Is this a bug or am I totally insane? I can't for the life of me figure out how to make a simple two note slide like this. Thanks for helping a total noob.

  • Something is wrong  because doing what you are doing should create a portamento the first time.  It normally works very simply and exactly like legato just with more slide. Your description sounds a little like a stuck keyboard note.

  • OK, finally figured it out. My controller keyboard had a second layer turned on by accident and was sending multiple midi channels while VSL was in omni mode. My GOD this program is freaking awesome. Thanks for the response.
