  • Why does VE Pro decouple everything when I load a MIDI file in DP?

Either using the "Load..." function or dragging a MIDI file into the chunks window decouples all of my VE Pro instances and then recouples them, which takes forever in my template (50+ instances). Not only that, but EVERY instance is then listed as decoupled (button on "decouple" is highlighted purple) once I get control back (which was a bug I reported long ago in VE Pro 4 - to fix this, I have to go into every instance and manually click on decouple to make sure all of my instances are saved with the DP file).

  • Is it perhaps possible to record a video of this behavior? Or if that's not possible a detailed step by step explanation on how to reproduce this starting from having neither VE Pro or DP running? Thanks.

  • Sorry I can't produce video, but here are the steps you need to reproduce this:

    1) Start up VE Pro server and DP7.

    2) Create an instrument track in a V-Rack and load up an instance of VE Pro, as well as a preset.

    3) Either use the "Load..." command from the file menu or go to the finder and drag a MIDI file into DP's chunks window.

    4) Before the MIDI file is completely loaded into DP, the instrument that was loaded will be decoupled (causing the instance to briefly display "Project saved" in the instance window) and recoupled, also causing the decouple button in the server interface to be selected.

  • Do you have the decouple ALL button enabled when this happens?

  • Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. It really doesn't affect the end result.
