  • Extremely loud noise bursts from VEPro Running on a Mac Slave

    Hi,

Sometimes when I first play back a project one of the audio outputs from VEPro into my Cubase session will blast incredibly load noise (+7db) for 5 seconds or so. The only way to stop this is to restart my Mac slave and then reconnect all my VEpro instances again.

This only happens with the VEPro instances on my slave Mac. The VEPro loaded locally on my DAW does not exhibit the same issues. It seems to happen more often at higher buffer settings (1024 and above).

I'm running Mac 10.6.8 and Cubase 6.0.6 as my DAW and my slave is running 10.7.4.

The Slave VEPro is hosting Kontakt 5.0.2 and Vienna Instruments Pro 2. No Eastwest PLAY is loaded on the slave - so that is not to blame!

Has anyone else had this? It's quite unnerving and bad for the health of my ears and speakers!

    Thanks.

    Hi bobulusbillman,

Which versions of VE PRO are you using? I remember that this problem appeared in a rather old version of VE PRO 4....

Should definitely be fixed with the latest versions.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

Thanks for the quick response. I'm using VEPro 5. I will check to see if it's the absolute latest version when I get into the studio later today. Will update you then!

  • Hi Paul,

Just checked and I've been running version 5.0.10683. I've updated to the latest version. Will see if things change.

    Thanks
