  • Delay between host and slave

My biggest problem with my setup currently is the delay between my host (logic) and my slave (vePro). I don't think I'm talking about latency. Maybe it is. I can adjust my latency in VePro to "none" and playback seems snappy enough. The problem I'm having is if I have a tempo synced patch (maybe some sort of arpeggiator) loaded into my slave using vePro, it isn't in time with my host daw. If I have a drum part playing inside Logic and then play the patch loaded on my slave, they aren't in time. The slave is slightly slower so it never really fits. This is even if I have my latency setting to none which I think really only affects while I'm playing right? Surely this isn't a problem everyone is having? Seems like a pretty big issue making it almost unusable. Is there a work around? Host: Mac Pro 2.66 running Logic Pro 11GB RAM Slave: Windows 7 i7 @3.2Ghz 24GB RAM

  • Make sure latency compensation is not turned off in Logic and VE Pro. Then you may still need the occasional extra stop/start of the Logic transport to get Logic to update its latency compensation. It doesn't handle dynamic latency changes very well.
