    Hi

My apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere.

Are there any plans to release DS on hard-drive or USB stick (still concerned about a very large download)? I'm asking because BestService has the Earlybird offer on an optional USB stick, but I would be more than happy to buy DS now (because of the unbalievable special offer), and basically just purchase the license, and wait until such time as the full library might be available on physical media. I would also be more than happy to pay extra for a hard-drive and shipping, should that be a possibility next year.

    Regards

    Adriaan

  • For me, I got the download in less than 8 hours. I don't think the HD or USB stick is a bad idea, but I was fortunate enough to have a good download speed.

  • jhsrong,

ILIO offers Dimension Violins on a Glyph Harddrive for an additional 299 US. I would imagine VSL will do something similar for the set.

I miss the boxes, VSL had the most elegant boxed sets in the game, no one came close.

    As for downloads:

I would be very surprised if VSL experianced the same lack of server speed when the time comes for the next DS Section.

After all, they said they failed to anticipate the demand... They don't get a second bite of that apple.

VSL can not fail to anticipate the demad twice..... Can they?

The good news, you downloaded your Violins in 8 hrs, still a bit slow, but far better than the 4 or 5 days many of us waited.

Now that VSL knows how to do it, we should expect nothing less...

  • Since VSL uses eLicenser protection scheme, there should be no risk sharing the .cab files in the public domain ( peer to peer networks), no?  It would greatly offload the data center requirement for VSL and offer global customers multiple faster connections to the bulk of the download content (once it was seeded sufficiently).

Has anyone at VSL considered this?
