  • Digital Performer 7.24 and Vienna Ensemble Pro 5

Hi Everyone, Quick question - In Digital Performer I am using the Event Input Plugin to be able to use just one Instance of Vienna Ensemble but access the extra MIDI channels. Is this more efficient than running multiple instances of VE PRO? - Is there a downside to using the Event Input Plugin in DP? Also as I understand the offline bounce doesn't work, How do you bounce a mix? - Should I just send VE PRO to say Bus 1-2 and Record it onto a stereo audio track and then get the mixdown from the audio folder? Vienna Ensemble Pro 5 is awesome! I have been able to run so many sample library's just want to make sure I am setting it up the most efficient way. Best regards, Darren

  • In my experience the Event plugins are FAR less CPU heavy than another instance.  Plus, it doesn't have to load up all those Audio Channels - as in, if you go into your bundles and go to instruements, you'll see a section of your VEP instance.  So if you had more than one, there would be that many more blocks.

I never offline bounce.  Too risky.  What I do is set up a Stereo Audio Track and have the input called MIX.  And set the output of the VEP stuff to MIX.  That way I can just record a track in real time and I know exactly what i'm hearing.

    Hope that helps!  Good Luck!
