  • VE 5 pro SideChain within Project Instance

I am wondering if this is just not supported or I am missing something. I would rather do the processing i can within the slave computer but this feature doesn't seem to be available within the AU in slave and regular stand alone mode.

  • Hi BadOrange,

You can process any signal, audio or plug-in, within Vienna Ensemble PRO on your slave computer. Of course the plug-ins need to be available on your slave computer, and with Audio, you´ll need the Audio Input plug-in in your Sequencer to route the signal to VE PRO. Then route it back from VE PRO to your sequencer.

    Best,

    Paul

  • let me clarify as i don't think you addressed the issue. If i want to use a signal within VE 5 to sidechain say a compressor in that same slave project. It doesn't seem to be supported. The mixer can create busses so there seems to be a level of routing but not at the plugin level within that instance of VE 5. Normally under logic or other DAWs , the plugin would give you an option for sidechain signal. This option is not present when used within an instance of VE 5.

  • Sidechaining for plugins is not supported.

Wow.  I am planning my Logic/VEP template/vframes layout. Sure is handy that I discovered this during my research phase before I started creating everything! Seriously, this fact should be stated in the VEP manual up front.

Any plans to support side chains? This is not simple to program?

  • Hi umarekawaru,

There are many features on our wish-list already, but I´m afraid that side-chaining is not a top priority.

  • Thanks for the quick reply.

I also agree with quality over quantity of features. :)
