  • Is there a way to trigger Kontakt 5 midi channels 17-64 from DP 8?

Ok so I'm getting to speed here with VE PRO5. I'm testing the event input feature. I'm wondering if there is a way to trigger channels 17-64 of Kontakt 5. As I see it right now the only way is to add another K5 instrument inside an instance and change its Midi in port. Is that the only way? thanks,

  • yes - on a mac (and maybe on a pc too?) I think the only way to get more things loaded, is to indeed instatiate another instance of K5 - and then just route it to the relevant outputs ...

  • 17-64 are only available in standalone mode...

  • I believe Cubase/Nuendo users can access all those ports. Part of VST3 protocol.

No. Kontakt is no VST3 plugin.

  • Yeah - tested this today myself - works great...

Civilizatoin3 - how do you deal with the masses of key switches if you are accessing all 4 banks - ? do you have a small 2nd keyboardand assign it right off the playable range of the kbd?

    P:)

  • well, me, I pencil in any keyswitch; if that extensive I would likely devote more than one track to it. But I don't work that way with VE Pro, I don't need giant Kontakt multis. I just happen to know the capabilities of that script so I reinforced it and made it a link.

  • I can see that being most useful in a live situation but in the studio must not ideal to keep track of what the current patch should be at any given time.
