  • Auto-load Vienna Ensemble Pro?

Hell everyone. I've been using Vienna Ensemble to host Vienna Instruments for use with my musical projects in Cubase; normally the Vienna Ensemble program loads WITH the project. However, Vienna Ensemble PRO seems to be different in that I have to save and load it separately. Is there a way to link the instance of Vienna Ensemble Pro with my Cubase projects as Vienna Ensemble (regular) is linked automatically?

  • Yes. Make sure your instances are not decoupled.

  • I just checked and the decouple button is not active (red), yet my Cubase Project doesn't automatically load/save Vienna Ensemble Pro with the project. Hmmmm. Should I select something from within the Vienna Instruments Host? (load incoming project data perhaps?) Preserve is set to "on". EDIT: I tried all of the above, but after saving a project in Cubase, closing it, then closing Vienna Ensemble Pro (64-bit server), reloading the project doesn't automatically open the VEPro instance. At this point I have to save projects in both Cubase and VEPro individually. I'm wondering how to change this so VEPro works as VEstandard has worked for me. EDIT: It seems that if I open Vienna Ensemble Pro Server BEFORE opening my host's project, everything loads automatically. Is there a way to have my host launch Vienna Ensemble Pro instead?

  • Ah, so that was your mistake. Yes, you should open the server first.

  • Oh so that's the required procedure. Cubase automatically loads Vienna Ensemble (non-professional) so I didn't expect that Vienna Ensemble Pro would behave differently. Thanks.
