Hey Guys,

VEpro doesn't find any VST pluggin/Instrument. It only finds the AUs. Since I have this problem on a Mac, there is no dialog to show VEpro the destination of the VST folder. I tried to "rescan" and "rescan all" but no VST or VST3 is found.
the component folder is just beside the VST folder. absolutely nothing special.
what am i doing wrong?

thx

VE Pro only hosts AU plugins on OS X, so you're not doing anything wrong.

Than please tell me where this is explained on your websites, that VST does not work on Mac. I also just made this experience. This is outrageous. I want my money back. Just writing to the support. What a waste.

Before you make the decsion to get a refund, note that you can use it with VST hosts. It's just that you will need to install the AU versions of your plugs.

Hi DG, yes I know. But I don't need AUs normally and now have to install them only for this program. And only because they don't clarify that on their homepage. This is not serious.
Refund is also no choice, because I will loose to much money for that. I already contacted the support.

Correct. Their web page is very misleading. Refund is possible but if you have installed the license on the eLicenser key then you have to send the key to them. Then they will remove the license etc and send the key back to you and charge you 50 EUR for that. This is awful.

Hi wholinwolf and vlad97,

Sorry to hear that you're upset.

I'm happy to let you know that we decided to make an exception for the both of you and process the refund for the Vienna Ensemble PRO 5 without any handling fee, even though we will have to pay the shipping costs of sending the empty eLicenser USB keys back to you.

We will also see that we will include it in the product description of our Vienna Ensemble PRO 5 that VST on Macs is not supported.

Regarding the product return and the exception for the handling fee, please contact our support (I believe I have been in contact with the both of you already) and refer to this thread. We'll then process the product return without the fee.

I hope the both of you can excuse the inconvenience this issue has caused.

Best,

Stefan

I only can say that the support reacted in an exemplary manner to my complains and suggestions. Thats why I will keep the software and dig into the world of AU. And it says all, I am a Cubase user since the Atari days ;-)

I am a new VEpro user and I also didn't notice this!  How hard can it be to add vst support?  Lots of us are cubase nuendo and other VST based Daws.

This needs to be in big letters somewhere on the web site. now i know why i wasn't seeing most of my plugins.

Well I do have a sort of work around. It involves loading a plugin to load a VST. But it does work.  I load up a new channel in VEpro with a plugin named MetaSynth They also shop MetaPlug as well for VST based FX instead of synths I think you get both.

Then i make the stereo and midi connections right in the MetaPlug window and sure enough things play. Metaplug isn't very heavy it seems bidule would most likely work as well.  just a quick dirty work around for now.

Here is a link to DDMF's website its a cheap plugin. I got it when working with Logic and ProTools that didn't load vst's It does the job.
