Hi everyone, Can someone guide me through the necessary steps to Uninstall "Epic Orchestra" ? I'm trying to re-install both VE PRO 5 and "Epic Orchestra" but whenever I'm installing "Epic Orchestra" over the previous one I get a Message saying: "Folder not writable" which I haven't been able to solve. So I'm looking at Uninstalling Epic Orchestra before I re-install it, but I can't seem to figure out HOW TO DO THIS? I would deeply appreciate any ideas you have regarding my situation. Many thanks! and I'm looking forwards to fixing this problem. VHS.

    Hello VHS,

If your folder is not writable, you need to change permissions on this folder before you can change/erase/overwrite it (right click on the folder => Properties).

If you can´t get further with this, I´d install Epic Orchestra to a different location and make sure that the right folder is assigned in the Directory Manager.

Here is a video that shows how to use the Directory Manager.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul, Thanks for the response. Changing the folders permissions didn't solve the problem. I'm still prompted with the message: "The project you are trying to load was created with a newer version of Vienna Ensemble Pro. Please download and install the latest software at http://vsl.co.at" I Also tried installing Epic Orchestra to a different location like you suggested as follows: In the Vienna Instruments Library Setup Wizard when asked for the destination location I chose: "New Folder" and pointed to a location. The problem didn't get solved, and I'm still getting the same message from above, and Vienna Instruments don't show up on VE PRO 5. Am I doing something wrong? I can't find the Directory Manager either, unless I'm running the Vienna Instruments Library Setup Wizard. If you could give me any other suggestions I would deeply appreciate it. Thank you very much.

    Hi,

    1) Make sure you have installed the latest Vienna Instruments Software (install it again!).

    2) Latest VE PRO Version (install it again!)

    3) latest eLCC

    4) Click the START button, go to "All programs" => "Vienna Instruments" => "Directory Manager".

    5) Start the Directory Manager

    6) Mark all folders (Ctrl+A) and click "REMOVE"

    7) Add the NEW folder that contains your Epic Orchestra and add it by drag and drop from your Explorer.

A video on How to use the Directory Manager can be found here.

    8) When opening a new song, make SURE that the Vienna Ensemble SERVICE is not running (it can be opened the first time after VI installation when the sequencer is looking for new plug-ins).

8a) If you see that the Vienna Ensemble SERVICE is open, close it with "Exit".

    9) Start the Vienna Ensemble PRO SERVER

    10) Open your song.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul

    Thanks for your reply.

Even though I'm running Vienna on a MAC, I followed your instructions and I'm able to run Epic Orchestra again like I did before.

    Except for one problem:

After I load an old project in Logic and work for a bit within it, all of a sudden I loose sound, and I notice the "Server Interface" has disconnected from VE PRO.

When I try to establish connection, I can no longer see the instance I had, and if I try to connect to a new one the message:

"The project you are trying to load was created with a newer version of Vienna Ensemble Pro. etc..." prompts again.

    WHY IS THIS?

I've installed all the latest software available. Should I install "Vienna Instruments Software 5.3 (OS X) build 11515" instead of 11859? or why is Vienna behaving like this?

I really hope you can help me to find a solution to this problem.

    Thank you very much.

    Best,

    Víctor.
