Hi guys. I've recently started a new blog called Rescored:

I take scenes from my favorite movies and rescore them with my own music. Almost all samples are Vienna samples, DP8 DAW. It's purely for fun and practising.

As of posting this there are three scenes now: 1. PROMETHEUS (2012), 2. APOCALYPSE NOW (1979) and 3. PAN'S LABYRINTH (2006)

I watched the Apocalyse now and it is great.  I wanted to hear it with the sound FX/ dialogue. You ought to mix it straight if all that section has is sound FX.  The music adds a lot though. 

Some people have been doing Excalibur I noticed.  You ought to try that as it was released with its "temp tracks" - Wagner, Orff, etc.   Some of the battle scenes have tremendous potential for music.  Though it would be difficult to do better than Carmina Burana in that film, which started an entire trend of scoring for epics.

Impressive stuff!! Although I found the music for Pan's lair somewhat inappropriate - but of course everyone has their own feel for a scene. I wouldn't mind hearing the music for that string quartet PDF excerpt at some point...

All three are excellent in terms of the music and the arrangement.  Nice work Lasse.  I would love to spend some time studying with Desplat. What a treat that must have been!
