  • Sibelius 7 and VSL - Incorrect articulations with VSL Special Edition Plus

Hi, i have loaded up a basic classical orchestra score in Sibelius 7.1.3. I have 2 instances of Vienna Ensemble loaded, one with 12 channels of Woodwind + Brass matrices and another with 5 channels of Orchestral Strings from VSL Special Edition Vol.1 Plus. I then configured the corresponding midi channels in the manual soundsets page and have selected VSL Special Edition Plus soundset for each instance. For some reason my strings keep triggering the tremolo sound and the double bass plays harmonics. I'm doing this on a Macbook Pro but on my other main computer i had no problems with the same setup in VE Pro via LAN. I even tried to load a new score set with the VSL House style and am still having the same problem with spiccato and staccato playing tremolo instead. I can't seem to figure it out.Any help out there would be greatly appreciated All the best.Simon

  • Hello Simon!

Please make sure that you have indeed loaded the Special Edition PLUS sound set for both Vienna Ensemble instances and that you have loaded the Special Edition PLUS matrices. These are the ones with the "+" at the end of the name.

If you didn't set up this score with Sibelius, but have imported a MIDI file, it may be necessary to add all instruments to the score again and then cut and paste the content of the old staves to the new ones.

    Best regards,
    Andi
