  • Hybrid reverb - White noise blast

    Whoa

I´m lucky that I have a good analog monitor controller right beside me, otherwise I´d be deaf.

A violent blast of white noise from Hybrid reverb (from a PC, as a plugin in VE Pro V 4). Not sure if I have the latest version (Where do I check this from PC plugin?).

Although I generally find these things working ok, this is unbearable. Hope this is fixed. Downloading latest version now....

    best

    Jussi Lampela

  • Folks,

this ain´t funny no more, updated Vienna Suite, loaded up the previous template, and BANG......again.

Will now update Vienna Ensemble (I´m still on version 4, don´t say that I need to shell out some cash to get rid of this bug)

HIGHLY annoying. Would be nice if VSL folks would comment on this, I will provide more specific info on request. This makes Hybrid reverb unusable

    Best,

    Jussi L.

  • Do you by chance use Logic for your main DAW?  You don't list any specs etc. so nothing to go on.

Logic used to blow my brains out for many years, so I finally dumped it and never looked back (the threads on it were very common as well, so it was not just me).  I don't miss that at all.  I had many a headaches and ear ringing from being blown away by full blast white noise.

Hope you get that resolved.  But if you are on Logic, god help you.

  • Hi Jussi,

sorry to hear about your problems. I can assure you that I use Hybrid Reverb (and its "brother" called MIRacle, which comes with MIR Pro) on an almost daily basis, and I can't remember that I encountered a similar problem, at least not recently. Nevertheless, I've asked VSL's software engineers to look into it ASAP.

In the meantime, please provide more details about your system (hardware, OS, DAW, audio system, drivers, additionally used components, latency and buffer settings, etc.).

    Kind regards,

  • Dietz,

thanks for the reply, I am currently travelling and will list the things I remember off the top of my head:

    VEPro v. 4 (Haven´t updated in a while, maybe 3-4 months), standalone

    On a PC (Win 7)

Driven from Sibelius on a Mac, via MidiOverLan,

Outputting via ADAT Lightpipe into the Mac (via RME 9652 on the PC, Fireface 800 on the mac)

    Best,

    Jussi L.

  • So far you've listed nothing that makes a sound......! Any samples/sample players loaded?

    DG

  • Hello,

I remember to have this noise but was resolved with  a new version . The white noise was only heard  but  allways when I change Impulse in the hybrid reveb.Hope it can help you

    best regards

    ps I use (Pc windows)

  • "So far you've listed nothing that makes a sound......! Any samples/sample players loaded?"

Actually, Hybridverb was on a separate track (don´t remember if it was a bus or input track), that gets a feed from my sample libraries (a mix of VSL players, EWQLSO, some Kontakt libraries).

So by itself it should NOT make any sound, right? But that´s how it seems to be doing! My ears know it for sure.

Again, I´m travelling for a couple of days and can´t get to the rig right now, will provide gladly details later on.

    Best,

    J.L.

There was a version of PLAY that caused this sort of error. It would be worth checking whether or not you have the update with the fix, so that you can rule that out.

  • Yes, realized that the previous version could do this. I did do the update before complaining about that the second time.

But no, as we speak it just happened again. Out of the blue, not even between switching instruments or anything that could cause a spike. I was partly saved because I had a limiter on the master bus.

One thing that might be of relevance: I just noticed that although I had updated Vienna suite and the VEPro, I hadn´t updated Vienna Instruments (and actually missing completely Vienna Instruments in Ensemble Pro). I somehow thought that it would get installed with the VEPro but no, it seems?

Nevertheless, the WHITE NOISE BLAST IS HERE AGAIN!

VSL folks, a comment is needed. This is getting highly irritating.

    best regards,

    J.L.

  • Dear Jussi.lampela,

as I wrote above: Please provide more details about your system (hardware, OS, DAW, audio system, drivers, any additionally used components, latency and buffer settings [of your audio hardware, VE Pro, Hybrid Reverb], etc.).

Apart from that, please send all of this to , too - that's the official support of Vienna Symphonic Library.

    Kind regards,
