  • Have You Used Sibelius Sound Sets and Standalone Version of VIPro Simultaneously?

    Hello,

I'm using Sibelius along with the VSL sound sets (using VEPro as a VST instrument within Sibelius) and everything works fine. However, I was wanting to open the standalone version of VIPro so that I can use it with my keyboard to try things out before notating them into Sibelius. I can open a standalone version of VIPro ok and it will work with my keyboard, but when I make the notations into Sibelius and try to play it back, Sibelius freezes when I hit the playback button and I have to shut it down.

Any idea if there is a way to get this configuration to work? Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • Hello Corte!

As far as I know, you would need a multiclient ASIO driver for that and most ASIO drivers aren't capable of that. (Someone correct me, if I'm wrong).

If by chance you have a second audio interface, you could assign the ASIO drivers for the different interfaces in the two applications.

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • Ok, Andi - thanks for the reply!

  • You can do this will any RME interface. However, the cheap method is to use ASIO4ALL. Do be aware that Sibelius is a bit of a driver hog, so you might have to make sure that one application is minimised to the Task Bar before you open the other one.

  • Hi DG,

Is it just a matter of downloading and installing ASIO4All? Once I install that driver, it should work ok??
