For those of you with a symphonic sense of humor =)

  • Terrific stuff. Reminds me that I really need to buy Some of the bass brass instruments .. one reason I shy away from writing pieces like this is that my Tuba's and Bass Trombones are only from special edition and doing fast performance repetitions with only the standard Staccato hits sound really bum :P

Great mix as well, like how the low end really pops out. Has the kind of daft humour that I like. Well done.

  • That's great.  Very well executed and composed/orchestrated.  Enjoyed listening.

  • Thanks to both of you for listening! =)

hetoreyn - This is actually using only special edition brass - and I haven't yet migrated to MIR, either.   I'm stuck using a "delay panning" technique in combination with VSL Suite reverb.  You are totally right about the low brass - it has been one of the tougher challenges for me too, and I worry I may have just gotten lucky for this particular mix =).

By the way - your SoundCloud content is amazing!  I'm looking forward to listening to all of it over time =)

  • Interesting :D .. I had a feeling your horns were the 4 horn ensemble. I bought the Epic horns (twice .. the original Horizon series version , and the download version) specifically so I could have the repetition abilities .. it was a good investment as they allow a lot more realism for fast short note intervals.

Eventually I'd like to buy the big BIG libraries .. but I'm still waiting on a film project to fund that one :D.

I find the Vienna Hybrid Reverb is all I need for reverb generally. I'd like to use MIR because it will simply sound better, but again waiting on funding for that. I've used the test version and it kicks ass.

Glad you're enjoying my soundcloud page :P

  • Totally enjoyed the piece suon.  Great to listen to and gives the feeling of a mouse race.  Love the mix and the performance.  Great Job.
