  • Has anyone gotten Reaper to work?

I can't seem to get Reaper to work at all with VE Pro, and the forums over there are no help. Has anyone here actually gotten it to work? There are apparently a ton of people having this issue.

You can open the plugin, it will insert the tracks, but only the first one will play. With some fiddling with sends and receives you can get midi to show up on VE Pro, but there is no sound, and even still, once you do that, all sound stops.

I am just curious if anyone has acutally gotten it to work.

  • It works for me.  I don't use Reaper all that often but as a test I loaded 3 instruments and it worked just fine.

Now when I inserted a VST on a track I said no to create routing because it wanted to create 32 mono tracks with some really strange output numbers.  I did have it build 16 channels of midi and after the fact let it build outputs.  I then changed each of the 3 channels in VE Pro to output to NET1/2, NET3/4 and NET5/6.  The other thing I had to do that I often forget is to Monitor input on each of the midi tracks.

Other than that nothing unusual.  I'd be glad to help you with specific questions if I can.

  • I'm doing something wrong, then. I don't get Net1 Net2, etc. like Logic. I get the standard Out 1/Out 2 like with DP. Maybe that has something to do with it. I'm going to try it now and tell it not to create the routing, like you said. That is something I've been doing every time.

  • Take a look at this video tutorial I made for someone.  I didn't have VEPro at the time but the info should be relevant.  I think I had the user choose yes to build multi-channel output but in my test last night I said NO and built it after the fact.

I think you'll also see what I mean by NET1/2, etc.  That's what VE/VEPro uses as names for channel output.
