I was going to ask the same question. Just to have a rough idea of when. I (as many others, I suppose) purchased VDS back in September 2012. I'm not complaining, just asking for a rough idea. Thank you. Michele

Hopefully DS Cellos are not too far away from being released. Looking forward to the day I will be able to use the rest of the collection (Cellos, Violas, Bassed) of DS String. They should sound fantastic together with the Vilolins ! Cheers, Muziksculp

I obviously want and look fwd to all the sections; however, in pop music, the basses are less critical and although I love violas, I could work around them for a while with just the violins and cellos.

Hi, I just received a News/Promotional e-mail from VSL. It also indicates that VSL Dim-Strings (Cellos) will be released during June, 2013 Quote from email : ' The cello section of Vienna Dimension Strings is expected to be released in June, 2013. ' Looking forward to Dim-Cellos Cheers, Muziksculp

violins in september and cellos in june? looks like it could run out of time for the promised release of the whole section "in 2013"?
that's not a preorder, that's a long term investment. hard for people that can't wait... ;-)

Hopefully they will get the Basses and Violas out this year. Quite honestly, I wish they had all of the DS-String sections completed by June, but that's not the case, and it looks like they need a good chunk of additional time to complete this complex task. But I'm sure they will do it all right. Yes, Paticence is needed here ...it's not fun, and not easy to wait, but that's reality, and we need to be patient, and hope VSL can deliver the entire DS-Strings line before it's 2014.

Saxer, violins are already available, cellos due in June. All samples for all four sections are recorded, and apparently VSL have taken on more programming staff to complete the library. Like you, they want the complete Dimension Strings released as soon as possible, but you have to understand the programming work for a library containing over a million samples is immense!

Just bought a new Angelbird Master SSD (since I had not much more space on my system for libraries) in anticipation of the DS Cellos and hopefully the Violas also arriving over the rest of the year (hope I'm right!). Can't wait for these to arrive! Basses too, although one can live without those in the short term it will complete the picture for sure.

Hi, Since VSL announced that DS-Cellos will be released in June, I have a feeling they wil release it on the last day of June (the 30th), which will give them maximum time to double, and tripple check that it is perfect ! Looking forward to DS-Cellos Cheers, Muziksculp

I'm enormously looking forward to the DS cellos - the violins are excellent, and I feel these could be better still. I'll also be seriously impressed if VSL can get them out in the same month that they've targeted - always a double edged sword with release dates - especially given that they always do things properly and release instruments which don't need countless patches to correct imperfections later. Long may that continue! Much as I'd love them to arrive tomorrow, I'd rather they took a little longer but arrived with all the gloss and polish needed to create a perfect library. Jules

I don't think anyone has seriously suggested they prefer too-early-released junk? An update of progress, however, would be appreciated (saves me feverishly checking this thread twice a day).

I've been checking my User Area every day to see if a new download link as appeared. I wonder if they'll do it in batches, like boarding an airplane, so as not to overload their servers.
