  • Mir Icons disappear into black screen

I am havinh a big problem with Mir 24 used as  plugins in logic , even with as little as 4 instruments , when I go to move the position of one of them it will cause some of the icons to disappear . When I click on the instrument on the left hand pane the icon then appears in a balck window outside of the room and does not allow me to put it back . I am also getting a lot of crashes where Mir will say it needs to be reopened . Any ideas? I also sometimes get this message An error occurred while parsing server response:

An error occurred while parsing server response:

    Expected '#' or '[a-zA-Z]', but got ' '

    I have latest version 5.1.12159 , loogic 9.8, 32 gig ram

    Any ideas?

  • I had the same problem with Mir Pro Plugin yesterday. After rebooting the project, everything was ok. But I don't have the crashes issue.

  • Reinstalled Mir  and now behaves as normal

    Hi  molemac_824,

sorry for the trouble. Thing is that I know the problem very well myself. 8-P

It might sound a bit strange, but actually I'm almost a bit relieved that there are users out there who are experiencing that issue, too. Until now it seemed that I'm the only one who runs into it - VSL software engineers haven't been able to reproduce the problem. 😕

I honestly doubt that the re-installation of the application really cures the problem, as I'm installing new beta-versions all the time and still see it happen.

May I ask: Is the projcet which is prone of that issue a result of a mergerd-in second VI-Frame? Or imported channel data? I have a suspicion that this is something were certain data chunks get corrupted.

Thanks for any info (and please supply OS versions etc. ..).

    TIA,

  • Hi,

Well so far so good no crashes or disappearing icons all day yesterday . The project is a new one and I am not using any vi frames but just Mir as an AU plug in .

    Os X 10.83 , logic 9.1.8 , mir pro 24 latest, room pack 2, 32 meg ram , Imac 2.8 quad i7

  • Hi everyone,

I ran into this phenomenon yesterday for the first time. Yesterday is also the day I upgraded from MIR Pro 24 to MIR Pro. I had more than 24 objects on stage - a newfound sense of freedom. After repeatedly trying to pursuade my escaping violin section to come back into the hall the Ensemble eventually crashed. Felt like mutiny for a minute. Eversince I have not come across this problem, nor have been able to reproduce it. All I can say is that it happened after I edited some of the object parameters to a group on stage.

It seemed for a moment, the incredible realism of MIR extended from spatialization to musicians sentiments. Maybe I should write other music, or plan more breaks. :)

    Here's a few specs:

    VE Server 64 bit 5.1.12010

    Mac Pro Octacore 24gb RAM

    Logic Pro 9.1.8

    Best,

    Tobias

Although the issue is annoying, I had to lough out loud when I read this. 😄

  • sure it wasnt the viola section , that would make more sense if  they were locked out of the room
