  • CPU usage gets higher when adding more RAM

    VEPRo 51112167
My master computer runs  Cubase, and an  M-Audio Delta 24/96 sound card, with a buffer of 768
I have eight instances of VEPro on my slave, all loaded with Kontakt, with several instruments each. No other instruments, no plugs, no jBridge, etc.

With 8GB of RAM in my slave (4 2GB sticks), and Cubase sitting idle, that slave's CPU usage is at 50%. Seems kinda high, but if that is what it is, then that is what it is. With 12GB of RAM in my slave (2 2GB sticks, and 2 4GB sticks), and Cubase sitting idle, that slave's CPU usage is at 74%. This to me makes no sense - that the CPU usage would be higher when more RAM is present, and when the amount of VEPro and Kontakt instances and samples has not changed.

Has anyone seen this, and does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this?

    Thanks in advance.
