  • updating VE PRO to 5.1.12337 and VI PRO 2 to 2.3.12337 Vienna Suite to 1.5.1862 _ not able to o...

I know, one should never ever update in the middle of a big project.

    But I did.

My projects are basically 50-60 midi tracks consisting 4 instances of Vienna Pro5 (in each several Vienna Instruments Pro2 s), couple of Kontakt 5 instances (with couple of instruments in them).

    I have updated:
    VE PRO to 5.1.12337
    VI PRO to 2.3.12337
    and
Vienna Suite to the latest version 1.5.1862.

After these updates, I can not open anymore my previous orchestral projects.

Cubase 7.0.5 quits - when "Loading Mix Console".

Any newly created projects opens fine.

Any idea how to get back my "old" projects?

I am running OSX 10.6.8 and Cubase 7.0.5. in 32 bit mode.

    Stefan.

    Hi Stefan,

Sorry to hear about that, this shouldn´t happen.

You can always roll back to the previous version (we keep it in the Archive of the Software Download User Area).

    My questions:

Do you get a crash report? If yes, please send it to .

Which version did you upgrade from (when was your last update)?

Did you repair permissions on your system regularily (with "DiskUtility" from "Applications" => "Utilities")?

    Thanks,

    Paul

  • Dear Paul,

Yes, I have get the crash report - sorry, but I did not save it. If I get another one I will save it for further needs.

Now, what I did is that I switched my C 7.0.5 into 64 bit mode, and now I CAN open my old projects.

So, running Cubase 7.0.5 in 64 bit all seams to work fine - however I do have some performance issue.

So if I understand my situation correctly with the new updates VEPRO 5, VI PRO 2 and Vienna Suite my C. 7. 0.5 IN 32 bit mode did not work.

Back to your questions: I do not remember from what version did I upgrade (I did the latest upgrades of VSL softwares around January/March 2013).

    About the "Repair disk permissions":

I did not do that, now If I verify Permissions, I have some issues related for:

    printer

    remote management

    image capture/scan

    JavaVMframeworks

    Remote desktop

    AppleUSB Ethernethost.

I am not an expert, but which one from these could  "generate" a situation what I had?

    Rergards

    Stefan.

  • Hi Stefan,

Glad to hear that everything works now.

Please try not just to "verify permissions", but actually "repair permissions" with DiskUtility.

    Best,

    Paul
