LOGIC X & VEP5 crashing AU Validation
I recently installed Logic X and have been having no luck getting VEP 5 to pass validation. I have installed the latest version of VEP 5 and have had the same problem. Is there any recommended method to get VEP 5 to pass AU validation in Logic X?

Try the following :
( Download the latest LOGIC version available( currently 10.0.1 ) if you haven't done yet . )
1. Restart your Mac
2. open the App "Disk Utility" , select your System Drive and do "Repair Diskpermissions" . This procedure can take some minutes.
3. After that , open VEP5 in standalone mode to make sure that it is properly working on your Mac .
Create a dummy Vi-frame and load a Vienna Instrument . Now close VEP5.
4. Open Logic X . Usually VEP5 should now be validated successfully by Logic X's "AU validation"
If not , please check Logic X manual "Logic Pro X User Guide" on page 506 and try to select and enable VEPRO5 manually
in Logic's AU MANAGER , as decribed on that page.
Hope that helps,
best

I went through the steps you outlined but I still get crashed validations. Is it possible VEP5 has conflicts with other plugins? Or, is it prefererable to load in VEP before other plugins? W
