  • Upside down Glissandos in Alto Sax!

There seems to be something wrong with the pGIU patch in the Alto Saxophone.  When I first loaded the instrument in VI Pro, it seemed to work normally, with the most noticable glissandos occuring where the interval between notes was the largest, say a 6th or a 7th.  Now, the glissando, in the upward direction, seems to have stopped working entirely.  I simply get two notes in succession, with no glissando effect.  However, I CAN get it to work if I will HOLD one note, and then, while holding that note, playing and releasing a note BELOW the note being held (so long as the lower note is within one octave).  This appears to be the opposite of the behavior I am supposed to be getting.  I am using OS X 10.8.4 and the latest versions of VI Pro and VE Pro.  Again, when I FIRST started using the patch, it worked correctly.  My DAW is Logic 10.0.3.  Maybe I accidentally set something wrong in VI Pro?

  • I thought I had waited long enough before posting.  My apologies.  There seems to be some problem with my RD 500 when in Transmit mode for faders.  If the "TX" button is engaged and then either "upper" or "lower" is selected, I get the effect described above.  My DAW shows CC information being transmitted (and no other), but somehow this functionality interferes with the glassando in VI Pro.  I will fiddle with the Logic environment to see if I can somehow restrict the flow of data transmission to the DAW when that fader capability of the RD 500 is engaged.  I am bothering with this at all, given the Ipad App for VI Pro, because the RD 500 has a very unsatisfactory MOD wheel capability (you can only push the pitch lever, there being no wheel).
