Sibelius 7 and VSL Instrument Changes

hello, I'm using Sibelius 7 with VSL. I want to switch from Clarinet to Bass Clarinet. I created an instrument change on the Sibelius score and it's notated there. Then I made a separate channel for Bass Clarinet, and loaded that matrix in Vienna Ensemble. But Sibelius isn't playing back Bass Clarinet when it gets to the instrument change. I saw in an older post that Sibelius should automatically find the channel with Bass Cl loaded in it, but it seems like it isn't doing that. How do I get it to look for that Sound ID? Also, what channel should I have the Bass Cl in? I have the regular Clarinet in channel 4. By the way, I'm running two instances of Vienna Ensemble (big ensemble) and the regular Clarinet is in channel 4 of Instance 1. Can I load the Bass Clarinet in a channel in Instance 2 and still get Sibelius to go to that channel when the instrument change happens? Sorry if the wording of this is a little convoluted. Any help would be much appreciated. Charles

Hello Charles!

Changing from Clarinet to Bass Clarinet should work with a Sibelius instrument change as you have described. It shouldn't matter if the two instruments are loaded in the same Vienna Ensemble instance or not, as long as you reserve a channel for all instruments in your score on the Manual Sound Sets page.

If you have tried to make output or channel settings in the Sibelius mixer, please reset all outputs to (Auto). Making manual settings there can mess up the playback.
