(Or sustained violas and legato violas, etc.) I'm not sure I can hear a difference. I'm using the Special Edition Vol. 1 Plus.

Thanks so much,

Mike

Hi Mike,

sustained violins are single notes => they do not have a transition. That´s the strong point of the performance legatos (best audible in the performance PORTAMENTO when connecting 2 notes).

Did you check out these VI Tutorial videos yet?

Best,

Paul

Hi Paul,

I'm a newbie with VSL (but not with using computer music technology), and I'm still trying to wrap my head around all it's power and options. Yes, I've watched some of the vids, but I need to watch them again, and also watch the ones I haven't seen. It's a lot to take in at once. So far, I'm very impressed, and very happy I made the purchase. Unfortunately for me (but not for VSL, LOL), I can see myself making more purchases from the library in the future. Oh well, it's only money. Your company has an outstanding product, and I'm glad I'm in the family now.

Thank you for your help,

Mike

Hi Mike, to hear the legato effect in all its glory you need to load a legato patch and play a single-line melody with the notes slightly overlapped. (This overlapping triggers the legato transition.) The legato inter-note transitions work for all intervals up to an octave in both directions. Let us know if you can't get it to work and we'll advise!
