  • Dimension Strings Violas and Double Basses

Hey guys, when can we be expecting the Violas and Double Basses for Dimensions library? thanks!

  • Do a forum search, or just scroll half a dozen posts down :oP

Unfortunately the answer is still a closely-guarded secret inside a hidden vault, and to enter the vault requires Herb Tucmandl's fingerprint, retinal scan, and voice recognition.

    Hello everybody,

Just asked Herb´s permission to post the following information:

Dimension Strings Violas will be ready in a couple of weeks.

Next, we´ll add a "primary release" of the Dimension Strings Double Basses (with the most essential articulations, comparable to the Appassionata Basses) in the first quarter of 2014, so that you can start working with all string ensemble on Dimension Strings basis very soon (until we´re finished with all articulations of the double basses)!

Thank you for the great response on the Dimension Strings, we´re doing our very best to finalize this huge undertaking and appreciate your patience!

    Best,

    Paul

  • That's a very unexpected way to release the basses, but I'm sure it will be very much appreciated!  Thanks for the info!

  • There IS a Santa Claus ... :-)

  •  yes, getting very excited about the violas especially. This will  be a crucial development in the full string espressivo sound VSL has been honing and perfecting for more than a decade.  I think the full Dimension Strings is going to be the most important musical development in sampling so far.

  • Hi Paul,

Thanks for the feedback regarding Dim-Violas and Basses expected release dates.

Looking forward to Dim-Violas in the very near future, and hopefully you will also have Dim-Basses ready by end of Q1-2014

I'm sure there will be other new developments you will be exciting us with during 2014 (correct ?)   [H]

    Cheers,

    Muziksculp

  • Thanks Paul! Ive been creating some great compositions with just the Violins and Cellos so I am very excited to be getting the Violas and Double Basses soon! Really appreciate all the hard work in making a truly superior product with Dimension Strings! Keep it up guys! -Bryan

  • Yepee yeah.

  • Yesssssss!

Then, I will  pospone certain projects and wait for the violas to continu on!!!

  • This is wonderful news. I can't wait to hear the violas especially.

  • Yes, the violas are my favorite strings so I am lusting after this new release.  The Solo viola, Chamber violas, Orchestral violas and Appassionata violas are all some of the best VSL instruments in their basic timbre and espressivo sound, and to add the Dimension violas on top of them, or alone, is going to be fantastic.   I am also delaying some projects because they are so necessary.  The Dimension approach is a revolution in recording by making it BOTH solo and ensemble simultaneously.  Just like a real orchestra!

  • I have a feeling we will have to wait until early next year for the Violas. (Hope I'm wrong)   [:)]

  • Hello everybody,

We saw the corresponding thread in VI Control about the meaning of "in a couple of weeks"... we were tought that this actually means "some weeks", so I actually meant to announce the Dimension Violas in early 2014.

The finishing touches on each collection need extra-care, and we´re always going 10 extra-miles to get the very very best out of the sample content.

That´s also why it´s hard to predict a certain date, but we´re getting close.

Thanks for your understanding, the anticipation will pay off!

    Best,

    Paul

Ahh! But now we have the music industry definition of early 2014 - around NAMM, which by experience usually means between April and June.[H]

  • I would guess Jan 15th. VSL seams to have a habit of updating their website with new stuff after old offers end...

  • 'Soon' is one word that scares me when I hear it coming from Sample Developers.

It has it's own meaning in the English Language spoken by Sample Developers [:D]

Happy Holidays & New Year to All [D]
