  • A question about the location of MIR data

This may have been asked a long time ago.

Aside from the MIR program itself, does the MIR data (the samples of the various halls, rooms, and spaces) load onto the C: drive by default? These seems to load automatically to my main program (c:) drive and I don't recall having an option to load it elswehere. Am  I missing something here? I thought you put your programs on your main drive and your samples on other hard drives. I have my C: drive and two other drives for samples, but I notice a lot of MIR data (five gigabytes)  on my C: drive. Since MIR is sampled reverb shouldn't it go on the sample drives along with the sound libary samples?

Sorry if this stuff is old hat.

    Thanks.

  • This was just in the thread I wrote right below.  MIR does not have to be on a separate drive since it is loaded into RAM from anywhere, and does not stream like samples. So wherever it is installed by default is all right.

  • Thanks William. Perhaps i should think of it in terms of the RAM that is typically required to run an OS or application.
