  • eLicenser says demo - Special Edition Vol.1

    Hello to everyone,

I have the Special Edition Vol. 1 with an USB Viennakey with the License which is always plugged in. The eLicenser says: Vienna Symphonic Library, Demo, Verbleibende Programmstarts (program runs not used yet): 4. Below it says: Collection License; Vienna Symphonic Library

    -Vienna Instrument

    -Special Edition Vol 1

I think I can use the extended Version 100 times, right? So perhaps I used them subconscious in Cubase 5. But when I open Vienna Instruments in Cubase 5 there are patches, matrixes and Presets. Are some of them in the extended edition?

I made a template and opened it often and after a time there was the message: (something like:) You a demo license. program runs not used yet: 10.
Do I have the false license to use the instruments shown in the patch list in Vienna Instruments in Cubase 5 or are these intruments the extended edition?

    I don't understand it.

Sorry for my bad english.. If you need some more details let me now..

    Chrz

    Hi Chrz,

You have registered your Special Edition Volume 1 in 2008, which means that you have installed Volume 1&2 automatically (previously called "Standard Library" & "Extended Library").

Back in 2008, all ViennaKeys were delivered with 180 starts, which are now (after unbelievable 5 years!!!) running out. Once these demo license starts are used up, you cannot access the instruments contained in SE Volume 2 anymore.

I have checked your key and it contains your SE Volume 1 license.

You can purchase a permanent license for SE VOL 2 online anytime!

    Best,

    Paul

EDIT: It goes without saying that a DEMO license is only intended to DEMO the instruments. You are of course not allowed to use any of the sounds in any commercial production (you need a permanent license to do so)!

  • Thx for your reply,

Just to be sure: I can use the instrumeents showed here 180 times : http://www.vsl.co.at/en/211/261/2064/2069/1753.So my demo license is now dead, but if I don't have the instruments in my Cubaseproject I won't get any message of demo license, right? I have to delete all the intruments contained in the Special Edition VOl 2 but I can use Vol 1, right?

I'm not now on the PC on which I have installed VSL. Are the instruments of the Vol. 2 in the list? Or can I sort them by Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 so that I won't be able to use them, because if I for example load a Wagner Tuba patch, there will be the message: Your demo license is times out for Special Editon Vol. 2 or something like that?

'in any commercial production' means not for me and home, too?

Thanks in advance and sry for all the questions..

    Hello Chrz,

If your music is not published, we will also have no way to know which sounds you used.

Still, "demo" means "demo", it is a means to find out whether you want to purchase a product or not.

    Best,

    Paul
