  • Dimension Violas ready for download

     Dear community,

we are very happy to anounce that the Dimension Violas are ready for download.

    You'll find the Downloader here:

    http://www.vsl.co.at/en/68/375/2473/2119.htm

    Enjoy!

    Herb

  • thank you in advance for your efforts! now i know how i will spend the evening...

  • WUNDERBAR!  Vielen Dank!!

  • Great!!! I just start to download. The server is responding very well - just 50mn to wait - Thanks Herb !

    Best.

    Philippe

  • I'll be the first to ask when the instrument profiles will be available in MIR then[:)]

  • This is very exciting!  The Dimension Strings are the most crucial orchestral samples on the planet right now.  So with the violas the ensemble is almost complete.  My download is not as fast as Philippe's - darn it !    Only 15 hours to go...

Congratulations to VSL for this tremendous amount of work accomplished!   I am doing various setups using different layers of strings and the complexity of sound is becoming radical in its effect.  Make one little change in one group and you have a compeltely different sound - just like live players.   With these violas it will be even more rich and espressivo.

  • Quite beautiful, Herb! Well done.

They are done and ready for delivery! 😊

An update of MIR Pro containing both the Instrument Profiles for Dimension Violas (with 10 Character Presets for each of them!), as well as the full implementation of MIRx presets and functionality (about 1,000 presets for Vienna Instruments and other signal sources) will be available in a couple of - errr - in a few days.

It goes without saying that the Dimension Violas will also be available for MIRx (... or actually it's the other way 'round).

BTW: An update for Vienna Suite with several presets for Dimension Violas (EQ and Compressor, mostly) is planned for the very near future, too. These presets are _not_ the same as the ones available for MIR Pro / MIRx.

    Kind regards,

    /Dietz - Vienna Symphonic Library
  • Cant wait for those MIR Pro / MIRx implementation.............

Did you also remember to update VIPro to v2.4.12844?

  • Yep!, This did the trick!! Thank you, Frank

  • just to ask:

is there a reason for the Violas download  default is to Cellos?

    C:\Vienna Cellos

Of course I imagine we all select another directory

  • Thanks for the information Dietz.  Really looking forward to the MIR update :)

  • Impatient after download I immediately had to do the first test:

It really sounds great, and fits so well into the chorus of the other Dimension strings!

my experience is, that DLM offers the same directory for download which has been used during the last download, eg. D:\VSLdownloads.

however it creates a subdirectory \V25_Dimensien...ect for the violas within the location one has selected.

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • Just wanted to say thanks for a very fast and, as usual, a completely uneventful download and installation experience. Your commitment to excellence is superb!

    Thanks

    Robert

  • Sweeeeeeettttttt.  And I was just mastering a bunch of quartet pieces.  Oh well, it will be fun now!!!!

  • 1 hour 50 mins.  Well looks like it's not going to happen tonight.  I have to get some sleep and work tomorrow.  I think that my wife's Korean Dramas should take a backseat though...
