  • Dimension Strings Trills

I'm having trouble with trills using Dimension Strings.  It seems that when I write a trill, it is barely audible.  Before when I used Solo Strings, the trils were quite pronounced and had a pleasant effect.

  • Audio example will help and reveal reality....

  • i got good results with playing the trills on the keyboard and set the humanize level (delay/humanize) to 100%.

Saxer, that's preceisely my issue.  With the solo strings, using Notion for playback, I never had to "play" the trill.  I just entered the trill mark over the notes to receive the trill and it triggered a nice trill.  With DS I can "play" the trill but I don't want to have to enter all those additional notes, and I want the score to look correct.

Maybe this has something to do with my preset for my nottion program.

  • Hi,

With Dimension Strings, there are no pre-recorded trills, "only" performance trills. We had to draw a line somewhere....

Thanks, Paul, I guess I missed that somewhere in the documentation.

  • I haven't tried this but that might be a good thing to set up in the VI Pro sequencer.

  • Hi,

That´s actually SUCH a good idea, that I always tend to forget: There are pre-made trills programmed in the VI PRO APP sequencer, you should definitely check those out!

    Thanks for the reminder, DG!

  • As a matter of fact, the programmed trills on the VIP sequencer, to me, are one of the highlights of the library. I personally prefer the approach to prerecorded trills. Just check the default matrixes provided by VSL and you can copy and paste them to your various individual instruments for consistency.
